The Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse defense turned in a dominant performance in a 12-3 win over Bridgewater College on Saturday afternoon.

  • Hampden-Sydney scored as many goals, four, as Bridgewater had shots in the first quarter as H-SC led 4-0 behind scores from Ian Levin (2x), Chandler Shaheen, and John Burke
  • Bridgewater ended their scoreless drought at 7:12, but Shaheen countered with a goal of his own at 3:36 to put the Tigers up 5-1 going into halftime
  • The Eagles manage to muster up two goals in the third frame, but the Tigers put up five courtesy of John Burke, Shaheen, Levin, and Jared Medwar (2x)
  • The Tiger defense shut out the Eagles again in the fourth quarter as H-SC added on two more scores from Hunter Brown and Shaheen

TIGER TOP PERFORMERS

  • The defense, primarily led by Kent Henry, Marshall Via, Canevin Wallace, Dylan Curry, Garrett Patnesky, and Zach Leitner limited Bridgewater to just 25 shots and even more impressively only 10 on goal
  • Wilson Booth dominated on face-offs, winning 14 of his 17 attempts with six ground balls
  • Chandler Shaheen scored four goals
  • John Burke found the back of the net twice and assisted on three more
  • Ian Levin moved into fourth place on H-SC career points leaderboard with a three-goal, one-assist performance
  • Hunter Brown added one goal and three helpers
  • Jared Medwar pocketed two goals
  • Mitch Renfrow earned the win in the cage with six saves

FOR THE FOES

  • Kevin Metzger was hot in the cage as he recorded 19 saves
