Hampden-Sydney Tennis defeated Randolph-Macon in a 5-4 thriller on Friday afternoon, the Tigers first win over the Yellow Jackets since 2011.

  • Matthew Moody and Michael Moody rolled to an 8-2 win at #1 doubles
  • Trent Singleton and Clark Cummings had little trouble winning at #2 doubles, 8-1
  • Levy Young and Grayson Burns narrowly lost at the #3 flight 9-8 (11-9)
  • The Moody Twins swept their singles matches with Matthew dominating Baxter Carter 6-1, 6-1 at the #1 spot
  • Michael needed three sets to emerge victorious by a score of 7-6 (7-4), 1-6, 7-5
  • Burns, playing #6, lost his first set 6-2 but bounced back to win the next two 6-4, 6-3
  • Cummings got shut out 6-0 in the first set of #4 singles, but the match required tiebreakers in the next two sets. Clark took the second 7-6 (7-3) before dropping the third 7-6 (7-4).
