HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Hampden-Sydney got on the scoreboard off a Duncan Morris tally at 8:58, then the Tigers won the ensuing face-off and went up 2-0 after Hunter Brown fed Ian Levin for a score
  • CNU drew within one a minute later off a Will Geise goal
  • Connor Pool and John Burke posted the last two tallies of the frame to give H-Sc a 4-1 lead after 15 minutes
  • The Captains tallied the first two scores of the second quarter to draw within one, 4-3, at 11:56, but they would not register another goal until 1:05 left in the third quarter while the Tigers reeled off seven straight to go ahead 11-4 after three quarters
