Lacrosse Rolls Past Randolph 15-6

LYNCHBURG, VA – Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse outscored the Randolph College WildCats 8-1 over the second and third quarters to win 15-6 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Hampden-Sydney got two quick scores on the Connor Pool (Charlotte, NC/Charlotte Catholic) from Ian Levin (Chapel Hill, NC/East Chapel Hill) connection, leading 2-0 after just 64 seconds
  • The Tiger offense went quiet from there, and Graham Southwick capitalized off a H-SC turnover to put Randolph on the scoreboard with just 10 seconds left in the first quarter
  • H-SC took over starting in the second quarter, and four consecutive scores provided the Tigers a 6-1 advantage at the 3:16 mark. The WildCats would score at 2:38, but Pool negated it with his fourth goal of the half with only four ticks left on the clock
  • The Tigers scored all three goals in the third quarter as they went into the final frame ahead 10-2
  • The Randolph offense found some traction in the fourth with four goals, but the Tigers added on five

  • Pool scored four times and added on an assist and four ground balls
  • Levin posted five points as he found the back of the net twice and helped on three other goals
  • Jake Koferl (Huntersville, NC/Lake Norman) posted a hat trick
  • Duncan Morris (Charlottesville, VA/Christchurch) contributed two goals
  • Mitch Renfrow (Charlotte, NC/Providence Day) played 45 minutes in net, allowing only two goals to go with six saves

  • Shane Soghomonian scored twice
  • Baden James forced six turnovers and registered one goal
  • Alex Leyva went 12-for-19 on face-offs
