Box Score LYNCHBURG, VA-A change in scenery was just what the Tigers needed in day two of the ODAC Baseball Tournament as the tournament moved back to Lynchburg City Stadium from Liberty University, and fourth-seeded Hampden-Sydney (27-14, 12-8 ODAC) defeated the top-seeded Hornets of Shenandoah (31-9, 15-5) 4-3 to remain alive in the double elimination tournament. The Tigers advance to Saturday and will face the sixth-seeded Eagles of Bridgewater College at 12:30 PM at Lynchburg City Stadium.
Shenandoah got on the board early with a run in the bottom of the first, and scored two more in the bottom of the fourth on a two-RBI Lew Johnson triple.
After four scoreless innings from Colin Morse, the Tigers finally got to the righty in the fifth, loading the bases to set up a bases clearing three-RBI triple from Lee Carneal (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) to tie the game.
Carneal later scored in the inning on a passed ball to take the lead.
Defensively, Teddy West (Lanexa, VA/Warhill) concluded his six innings on the mound with a scoreless fifth and sixth to keep the lead.
