Lacrosse Game Notes: April 23 at Bridgewater

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA - Hampden-Sydney goes on the road for the final time in the regular season as they play at Bridgewater College on Saturday at 1:30 pm. For full game notes, please click here. For live coverage of the game, click here.

Hampden-Sydney continues on its quest for a top-two ODAC Tournament seed and did themselves a huge favor this weekend by defeating Lynchburg College 13-9. The Tigers have now won three in a row and six of their last seven with the lone loss coming by one goal. The Tigers will need Washington and Lee to defeat Roanoke on Saturday to have a chance at the #2 seed. With a Roanoke win on Saturday, the Tigers would need the Generals to lose both at Randolph and at Randolph-Macon next week.

In the event of a potential three-way tie for second place among Hampden-Sydney, Roanoke, and Lynchburg, the Tigers would get the #2 seed due to the goal-differential- among-tied-teams tiebreaker. The Tigers beat Lynchburg by four and lost to Roanoke by one for a +3, Roanoke has a goal differential of zero with a one-goal win over H-SC and a one-goal loss to LC, and LC checks in at -3 with a four-goal loss to H-SC and a one-goal win over Roanoke.

Hampden-Sydney Head Coach Ray Rostan will be looking for his 300th win at H-SC and 340th overall.

Bridgewater is on a five-game losing skid after posting arguably the biggest win in the short history of the program when they won at Virginia Wesleyan 12-11 on March 26. They have had three narrow home losses since then vs. Randolph-Macon (10-9 OT), Guilford (7-5), and Randolph (11-10). With only one ODAC win, the Eagles still have a chance to make the ODAC Tournament for the first time, but it would require upsetting Hampden-Sydney, winning at Shenandoah, while also getting help from other teams.
