Conor Kilfeather & Gaines Weis Named 2025 USILA Scholar-Americans; Hampden-Sydney Earns USILA Team Academic Award

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College recent graduates Conor Kilfeather (Wyndmoor, PA) and Gaines Weis (Richmond) have each been named 2025 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-Americans. In addition, Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse has earned the USILA Team Academic Award for the fifth consecutive year.

Conor Kilfeather earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and business, with a minor in history, graduating on May 10 with Summa cum laude and College Honors while attaining a 3.8983 GPA. A Dean's List student, Conor is a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, Eta Sigma Phi Classics Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society and Phi Beta Lambda Business Society. He is also a Tiger Fund manager, Student-Athlete Mentor, Venable Scholar and Treasurer of the Commercial Real Estate Club, while a two-time member of the CSC Academic All-District® At-Large Team (2023-24), and a soon to be four-time member of the ODAC All-Academic Team (2021-25). On the field, the long-stick midfielder started two of 16 games in 2025 with four goals and eight assists for 12 points, and added 48 ground balls and a team-best 30 caused turnovers. He holds the school record for career caused turnovers (117), and ranks ninth in career ground balls (230). Conor was previously named First Team All-ODAC and an Honorable Mention All-American by both the USILA and USA Lacrosse Magazine, while selected to and playing in the USILA Division III All-Star Game, as well.

Gaines Weis earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and business, with a minor in rhetoric, graduating on May 10 while attaining a 3.2024 GPA. A Dean's List student, Gaines is a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon Economics Honor Society and a Student-Athlete Mentor, while a soon to be member of the 2024-25 ODAC All-Academic Team. On the field, the short-stick midfielder played in all 18 games in 2025 with one goal and three assists for four points, and added 50 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers – the latter two both second on the team. He ranks second in career caused turnovers (82) and 21st in career ground balls (156). Gaines was previously named Second Team All-ODAC and an Honorable Mention All-American by the USILA, while also selected to and playing in the USILA Division III All-Star Game.

H-SC Lacrosse is one of 80 NCAA Division III schools to attain the 2025 Team Academic Award with its 3.05 cumulative Team GPA. The Tigers have been recognized each of the five years that teams have been honored by the USILA.
