2024-25 CSC Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Teams (PDF)

Will Palmer (Atlanta, GA) and sophomore
Alex Wagner (Cary, NC) have each been named a member of the
2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) for NCAA Division III. The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.
Will Palmer is an economics and business major, and minors in environmental studies, with a 3.61 GPA. A Dean's List student in five of his six semesters, he is a Hurt Science Scholar and recipient of the College's Presidential Scholarship, and is also a soon to be three-time member of the ODAC All-Academic Team (2023-25). On the field, the lacrosse goalie started all 18 games for the Tigers (12-6, 7-3 ODAC) and played 845 minutes with 146 saves for a .471 save percentage and an 11.64 goals-against average, adding 24 ground balls. He had seven games with at least 10 saves, including a career-high 15 stops on two occasions, and yielded a season-low four goals on three occasions when playing at least 30 minutes toward his 12 wins on the season.
Alex Wagner is an economics and business major, and minors in rhetoric, with a 3.58 GPA. A Dean's List student each of his four semesters, he is a recipient of the College's Middlecourt Scholarship and will study abroad this summer with The Virginia Program at Oxford (VPO), a Hampden-Sydney-sponsored, interdisciplinary summer school program based in St. Anne's College at Oxford University. Alex is also a soon to be two-time member of the ODAC All-Academic Team (2024-25). On the field, the lacrosse midfielder started six of 17 games with four goals and eight assists for 12 points, including a career-high three points (1g, 2a) vs. Berry (GA) on February 22, and the game-winning goal vs. Guilford (NC) on April 23. He added three ground balls and one caused turnover.
The CSC Academic All-District® At-Large teams include the H-SC sports of men's golf and men's lacrosse among 10 men's sports overall. An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale), and eligible nominees in men's lacrosse must compete in 90 percent of the institution's overall games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
