HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Senior team captains
Conor Kilfeather (Wyndmoor, PA),
Campion White (Apex, NC), and
Gaines Weis (Richmond) have been named Honorable Mention All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). Kilfeather and Weis were preseason Second Team All-Americans by the organization.
Kilfeather, is an Honorable Mention All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine, a First Team All-Conference selection by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), and an Honorable Mention Preseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse this season. In addition, he earned ODAC Defensive Player of the Week honors on February 24. He played 16 games, making two starts, scoring four goals, and adding eight assists, with 30 caused turnovers and 48 ground balls. His 30 caused turnovers were a team-high and placed him seventh in the ODAC.
Weis, a Second Team All-ODAC selection and an Honorable Mention Preseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse, earns All-American honors for the third straight season. He played all 18 games, scoring a goal with three assists, causing 24 turnovers, and grabbing 50 ground balls. His 24 caused turnovers tied him for second on the team, and he was second on the team in ground balls.
White, a Second Team All-ODAC selection and an Honorable Mention Preseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse, earns All-American honors for the first time. The senior started all 17 games he played, scoring a career-high 27 goals and tying a career-high with 11 assists for 38 points, while also collecting 11 ground balls.
