Guilford took the first lead in game one, scoring a run in the bottom of the second, but the Tigers used two runs in the fifth and three more in the seventh to take a 5-1 lead late in the game.
Lee Carneal (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) helped put the Tigers on the board first with a two-RBI single that drove in Moe Gothe (Chester, VA/Thomas Dale) and Brian Goodwyn (Chester, VA/Thomas Dale).
Gothe then drove in the first run of the seventh, scoring Dustin Wiles (Belmont, NC/South Point) on a sacrifice fly. John Lloyd (Glen Allen, VA/Deep Run) and Tyler Blevins (Draper, VA/Pulaski) also each batted in a run, scoring Goodwyn and Carneal, respectively.
The Quakers were not finished despite being down four, scoring a run in the bottom of the eighth to come within three.
Hampden-Sydney, however, fired right back in the top of the ninth with a Gothe knocking in Goodwyn with a sacrifice fly.

On the bump, Reggie Johnson (Dunnsville, VA/Essex) picked up the win, allowing just one run on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts in five innings. Dylan Gonzales (Richmond, VA/J.R. Tucker) allowed one run on four hits with two strikeouts in three innings, and Perkins allowed two runs - just one earned - on a hit and a walk in the ninth.

The Tigers used two big innings in the second game to take an 8-3 win, scoring three runs in the three and tacking on five more in the sixth.
Just as he did in game one, Carneal started the scoring for the Tigers with a two-RBI single, this time scoring Wiles and Cody Smith (Bristol, VA/Virginia HS).
Lloyd also drove in Goodwyn on a groundout before the inning was over.
In the fifth, a two-RBI double from Jack Elliott (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) started off the scoring, followed by an RBI-single from Goodwyn and a bases loaded walk from Carneal. Goodwyn later crossed the plate on a throwing error.
Guilford was finally able to get on the board in the eighth, driving in three runs. The Quakers also added one in the ninth, but that was as close as they would get.
The Tigers had a strong outing from Teddy West (Lanexa, VA/Warhill), who picked up his seventh win of the season after allowing three runs - just one earned - on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts in eight innings. Matt Hinson (Kinston, NC/Arendell Parrott Academy) then closed out the game, allowing one run on two hits with a strikeout.
