HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – Hampden-Sydney Tennis notched its first win of the season, 7-2, over Arcadia in the first match of the PTR Spring TennisFest in South Carolina.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A marathon competition, five of the nine matches required a tiebreaker
- Trent Singleton (Richmond, VA/Douglas S. Freeman) and Harrison Stone (Durham, NC/Voyager) took the #1 doubles match 9-7
- Andrew Loving (Charlottesville, VA/Western Albemarle) and Nathan Horvit (Columbia, MO/Rock Bridge) played one of the longest doubles matches in recent H-SC history but took the win at the #2 flight 9-8 (15-13)
- Singleton got his second win of the day at #1 singles. He lost the first set 7-5 but won the second set 6-4 to force a tiebreaker where he won by a comfortable 7-2 margin
- Stone also picked up a win at the #2 flight, winning easily by a score of 6-0, 6-3
- Loving needed another tiebreaker to win at the #3 spot. After falling 6-4 in the first set, he took the second 6-2 and then went 10-8 in the tiebreak
- Horvit rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 decision at the #5 flight while Max Henderson (Lynchburg, VA/Liberty Christian) cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win at #6 singles
