Tennis Competes Against Virginia Wesleyan

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA – Virginia Wesleyan Tennis upended Hampden-Sydney 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon.

  • Records: Hampden-Sydney 1-9, 0-4 ODAC; Virginia Wesleyan 6-5, 2-0 ODAC

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The team of Nathan Horvit (Columbia, MO/Rock Bridge) and Andrew Loving (Charlottesville, VA/Western Albemarle) rolled to an 8-2 win at #3 doubles
  • Horvit also picked up a single win, going 7-6 (7-3) in the first set of the #5 flight. He led 3-0 in the second set before his VWC counterpart was forced to retire
  • Patrick Bryant (Raleigh, NC/Broughton) posted an impressive 6-1, 6-2 win at the #6 singles spot

  • The Tigers hit the road to Lexington, VA on Sunday to play at Washington & Lee at 3 pm.
