ASHLAND, VA – Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse scored 11 of the first 12 goals of the game as the Tigers rolled past Randolph-Macon 14-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Tigers and Yellow Jackets found themselves tied after the first quarter as goals from Ian Levin (Chapel Hill, NC/East Chapel Hill) and Ryan Davidson made it 1-1
  • The H-SC offense caught on fire in the second quarter with seven scores from seven different players, and Hampden-Sydney shutout Randolph-Macon to go into halftime leading 8-1
  • The offense didn't cool down after a 10-minute intermission as Chandler Shaheen (Richmond, VA/St. Christopher's) and Levin scored just nine seconds apart to make it a 10-1 game with 13:24 left in the third quarter
  • H-SC would go on to score three of the next five in the frame to go into the final quarter out in front 13-3
  • The Yellow Jacket offense was able to gain some traction in the final quarter, but their four-goal effort was too little, too late

  • Levin continued his hot streak, posting four goals and two assists for six points. It was his third straight game with at least four points and his fourth in the last five contests
  • Shaheen contributed four points on two scores and two assists
  • Connor Pool (Charlotte, NC/Charlotte Catholic) notched a hat trick
  • Wilson Booth (Cary, NC/Green Hope) dominated at the face-off X, winning 13 of his 16 face-off attempts with a game-high nine ground balls
  • Kent Henry (Crozet, VA/Western Albemarle) forced two turnovers, picked up six ground balls, and delivered his third assist of the year from the long stick midfielder position
