Tennis Narrowly Falls 5-4 to Shenandoah

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Hampden-Sydney Tennis narrowly lost to Shenandoah 5-4 at Boar's Head in Charlottesville on Sunday. 

THE BASICS

  • Final Score: Hampden-Sydney 4, Shenandoah 5
  • Records: Hampden-Sydney 1-5, 0-2 ODAC; Shenandoah 2-5, 1-2 ODAC 

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Hampden-Sydney went up 2-1 in doubles play
  • Trent Singleton (Richmond, VA/Douglas S. Freeman) and Harrison Stone (Durham, NC/Voyager) were victorious 8-2 at the #2 flight
  • Andrew Loving (Charlottesville, VA/Western Albemarle) and Nathan Horvit (Columbia, MO/Rock Bridge) teamed to win 8-4 at #3 doubles
  • Singleton notched his second win of the day at #2 singles. He dropped the first set 6-4 but went on to win the next two sets 6-2, 6-3
  • Horvit also grabbed another victory at #5 singles, going 7-6, 5-7, 6-3

  • Hampden-Sydney plays a double header at Roanoke College on Saturday as they battle Roanoke College at 10 am and UVA-Wise at 1 pm.
