Ian Levin Posts Eight Points in 12-6 Defeat of Shenandoah

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA – Ian Levin (Chapel Hill, NC/East Chapel Hill) scored five goals and handed out three assists as Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse defeated Shenandoah 12-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Hampden-Sydney rolled up a 5-0 lead after the first quarter as Levin and Duncan Morris (Charlottesville, VA/Christchurch) each scored twice in the opening frame.
  • The Tigers got sloppy in the second quarter, committing eight turnovers, enabling Shenandoah to outscore H-SC 2-0 in the period to make it a 5-2 game at the half
  • The Tigers cleaned things up after intermission and racked up four goals while shutting out the Hornets to provide the hosts a 9-2 advantage after 45 minutes of action
  • Shenandoah would go on to score four goals in the fourth quarter but trailed by at five goals the entire period

  • Mitch Renfrow (Charlotte, NC/Providence Day) notched 13 saves
  • Jared Arntzen (Atlanta, VA/Blue Ridge) and Wilson Booth (Cary, NC/Green Hope) combined to go 14-for-20 on face-offs
  • Chandler Shaheen (Richmond, VA/St. Christopher's) and Morris each scored twice
  • Hunter Brown (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) added on two assists
  • Kyle Fraser (Salem, VA/North Cross) got the majority of the defensive work on Shenandoah's Stephen LaTona and he was kept without a goal until just 1:56 left in the game as the Tigers emptied their bench late
