Hampden-Sydney has started the season in impressive fashion, competing against a perennial national title contender against Salisbury while winning the next three games. The starting defense has been strong throughout the season, and the offense has kicked into high gear the last two games. The starting defense of Kent Henry at LSM, Kevin Wilhelm at short stick defensive midfielder, Thomas Passenant, Kyle Fraser, and Triston Stegall along with goalkeeper Mitch Renfrow have given opposing offenses fits this year.

Duncan Morris is having a career year, already with 17 goals, he is just 10 scores short of tying his career high in single-season goals. Jake Koferl's 10 points through four games also puts him on pace for a new single-season career high.

The talented sophomore class had to sit on the sidelines for most of last season behind a valuable senior class, but they have stepped up to the plate this season. Hunter Brown is second on the team in points with 12, including a team-high nine assists. Ian Levin has tallied nine points Connor Pool eight, and Chandler Shaheen six.

Jared Arntzen and and Wilson Booth have been big on face-offs for the Tigers this season. Arntzen is 27-48 with 14 ground balls for the year while Wilson Booth is 25-37 with 15 ground balls.

Catholic is off to a 2-0 start with wins over Marymount (13-8) and Randolph-Macon (17-11). Tim Keith has carried the Cardinal offense with 11 goals and four assists for 15 points. Bennett Bradley and Victor Licata are second with five points. Matt Michalski has gone 22-39 on face-offs. Harrison Holak has recorded 29 saves for a save percentage of 63.0% and a goals against average of 8.65
