HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA - Hampden-Sydney Tennis vanquished Lynchburg College 6-3 on Thursday afternoon.
The Tigers swept all three doubles matches. The duo of David Anderson (Williamsburg, VA / Lafayette) and Patrick Bryant (Raleigh, NC / Broughton) won 8-6 at the #1 spot as did Jed Dittmar (Charlottesville, VA / Covenant) and Myshake Abdi (Martinsburg, WV / Martinsburg) at #3. Nathan Horvit (Columbia, MO / Rock Bridge) and Trent Singleton (Richmond, VA / Douglas S. Freeman) needed a tiebreak to take the win at #2 but clinched it 9-8 (7-5).
Singleton earned a victory at the #2 singles flight, besting Josh Johnson 6-3, 6-1. Bryant rolled to a win at the #2 flight with a score of 6-1, 6-1. Dittmar didn't give up a single game at his #5 match with a dominating win of 6-0, 6-0.
Hampden-Sydney travels to Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday for a 3 pm match.
