HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA - Hampden-Sydney Tennis dropped a 6-3 decision to Averett University on Wednesday afternoon in the home finale.

Nathan Horvit (Columbia, MO / Rock Bridge) went 2-0 on the day as he won his #5 singles match in dominating fashion at 6-4, 6-1. He, along with Jed Dittmar (Charlottesville, VA / Covenant) received a win at #6 doubles by default. The Tiger duo of Trent Singleton (Richmond, VA / Douglas S. Freeman) and Andrew Loving (Charlottesville, VA / Western Albermarle) narrowly lost 9-7 at #2 doubles. They trailed 7-3 at one point before storming back to trail just 8-7.

Hampden-Sydney closes out the season on Sunday with a 1 pm match at Virginia Wesleyan.
