HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA – Randolph College came away with a hard fought 9-0 win over Hampden-Sydney Tennis on Wednesday afternoon.
While Randolph won all three doubles matches, all of them were tightly contested with scores of 8-5, 8-6, and 8-6. Singles play proved to be mostly the same. Randolph took the #1 singles match by a score of 6-4, 7-5 (5), and the #2 flight 6-4, 6-4. The WildCats needed three sets to put down the Tigers, 6-1, 2-6, 10-4 at #3, and the #6 slot went to Randolph via a score of 7-6, 6-2.
Hampden-Sydney plays their third of four matches this week on Friday when Averett University comes to town for a 3 pm matchup.
