FERRUM, VA - H-SC Tennis got the Coach Bareford era off to a strong start with an 8-1 win over Ferrum on Wednesday.

J.B. Weaver (Raleigh, NC / Needham Broughton) and Thacher Jennings (Lynchburg, VA / EC Glass) took #1 doubles 8-1 while David Dodson (Roanoke, VA / Cave Spring) and Lawrence Bowers (New Bern, NC / Arendell Parrott Academy) were perfect at #2 doubles to the tune of an 8-0 win. Patrick Bryant (Raleigh, NC / Broughton) and Nathan Horvit (Columbia, MO / Rock Bridge) got their first career win teaming together at the #3 flight, having to go the distance at 9-8 (7-2).

The domination continued at five of the six singles matches. Weaver won 6-0, 6-1 at #1 while Dodson won by the same score at #2. Jennings took a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the #3 spot, Bryant was victorious 6-2, 6-2, at the #5 flight, and David Anderson (Williamsburg, VA / Lafayette) swept 6-0, 6-0 at #6.

Hampden-Sydney travels across town to play Division I Longwood University on Thursday at 3:30 pm.
