HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-Sophomore left fielder Christian Hamlett (Midlothian, VA/Midlothian) knocked a three-run home run over the fence to help propel the Tigers to a key 4-3 win over ODAC-foe Lynchburg College. With the win, the Tigers improve to 12-12-1 overall and 5-4 in conference play while the Hornets drop to 14-11 overall and 4-5 in the ODAC.

While Stidham held the Hornets scoreless over the first six innings, Hamlett broke the 0-0 tie in the second inning with a three run homer that also scored Jack Elliott (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) and Patrick Kuhns (Stafford, VA/North Stafford).

The Tigers tacked on one more run in the sixth as Andrew Tucker (Fincastle, VA/James River) doubled and was batted in by Beau Flinchum (Ashland, VA/Hanover).

Lynchburg stung in the seventh with three runs, but senior closer Luke Rabiej (Alexandria, VA/Centreville) shut down the Hornets for the final 2.2 innings to pick up his fifth save of the season. Rabiej did not give up a hit and only walked one while striking out three.

The Hornets outhit Hampden-Sydney 11-6 with six Tigers each recording one hit.
