Moravian improves to 1-0 while the Tigers drop to 5-3.

After Kyle Pullen (Severn, MD/Calvary Baptist) pitched a shutout first inning, the Tigers pounced with two quick runs. Chris Martin (Chesterfield, VA/Manchester) singled, and then advanced to third on an error. Zach Harrelson (Danville, VA/George Washington) then knocked in the first run. Nick Caporale (Richmond, VA/Mills Godwin) followed Harrelson with an RBI single that scored Alan Brownell (Herndon, VA/Herndon).

The Moravian bats came alive over the next four innings as the Greyhounds scored six runs over the next four innings to take a 6-2 advantage after four and a half innings.

Hampden-Sydney was able to close the gap in the bottom of the fifth. Zeb Cope (Advance, NC/Davie County) led off the inning with a single. After advancing two bases, Herbie Williams (Danville, VA/George Washington) hit the RBI single to make it a 6-3 game. Williams then stole second and third, but the Tigers were unable to score him.

After two scoreless innings courtesy Kyle Grantier (Danville, VA/George Washington), Jordan Wind (Tappahannock, VA/Essex) hit a solo homerun to put the Tigers within two.
