TENNIS TIGERS END REGULAR SEASON WITH 5-1 WIN

BRIDGEWATER, VA (April 23, 2009)–Hampden-Sydney finished the year strong with a convincing 5-1 victory over ODAC foe Bridgewater College. With the win, the Tigers locked up the second seed in the upcoming ODAC tournament, hosted by Washington & Lee University. The Generals, are not only hosting, but they are also the regular season champions and will go into the tournament with the top seed.

The Tigers played a shortened match against the Eagles because they played to decision; the first to five wins won the match, and Hampden-Sydney did so in six events. Though they dropped the No. 1 doubles, the Tigers took the two other doubles matches and all three singles matches.
