LYNCHBURG, VA (March 4, 2009)–Not even the snow could stop the Tigers from getting their first win of the 2009 season. Hampden-Sydney was scheduled to host conference foe Randolph College, but due to the snow on the courts, the teams had to play in an indoor facility in Lynchburg, VA. With the Tigers coming off of a tough loss, they responded well defeating the Wildcats 9-0.

Hampden-Sydney won each singles match 6-0, 6-0 with junior William Moss (Fredericksburg, VA/Fredericksburg) winning at No. 1 singles defeating Tom Cooper.

With the win, Hampden-Sydney improves to 1-1 on the season and 1-0 in ODAC play.

The Tigers return to action on Friday, March 6 as the Tigers travel to Virginia Beach, VA to take on Virginia Wesleyan College at 3:30 pm.
