FERRUM, VA (March 18, 2008)– Hampden-Sydney's tennis team captured its fourth win of the season with an impressive 9-0 triumph over host Ferrum College on Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers top three players, sophomore Will Moss (Fredericksburg, VA/Fredericksburg), freshman Rich Pugh (Augusta, GA/Lakeside) and freshman Shad Harrell (Richmond, VA/Mills Godwin) combined to drop just one game in their singles matches, while freshman Zack Pack (Keysville, VA/Randolph-Henry) gutted out a tough 7-5, 7-5 decision over Ferrum No. 4 Bob Dill.

Hampden-Sydney freshman Tal Covington (Gainesville, VA/Flint Hill School) and senior Andrew McLeod (Mandeville, Jamaica/Manchester) rounded out the Tigers' singles wins with 6-2, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-0 victories, respectively.

Tigers' junior Jenks Snyder (Rock Hill, SC/Woodberry Forest) was successful in his first appearance of the season, teaming with McLeod to earn an 8-2 doubles triumph over the Panthers' duo of Dill and Kevin Board.

The Tigers improve to 4-0 overall on the season.

Hampden-Sydney returns to ODAC competition on Thursday, March 20 when it travels to Lynchburg, VA to square off with Lynchburg College. Match time is set for 3:30 pm.
