VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (March 25, 2007)–Hampden-Sydney's tennis team was narrowly defeated by ODAC-rvial Virginia Wesleyan College on Sunday, 4-5, in Virginia Beach, VA. With the loss, the Tigers drop to 4-3 on the season and 2-2 in the ODAC, while the Marlins improve to 8-2 overall and 4-1 in the conference.

Freshman William Moss (Fredericksburg, VA/Fredericksburg) improved to 5-1 overall (3-0 ODAC) in #1 singles as he scored a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 victory over the Marlins' Eric Caudill. Also scoring victories in singles competition were Jenks Snyder (Rock Hill, SC/Woodberry Forrest) and Andrew McLeod (Mandeville, Jamaica/Manchester), while Bruce Meyer (Richmond, VA/Monacan) and James Labrot (Savannah, GA/Savannah Country Day)scored a victory in #3 doubles.

The Tigers return to action on Thursday, March 29 as Hampden-Sydney will travel to Bridgewater, VA to face Bridgewater College. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm.
