Jack Barnes (Manakin Sabot) posted a final round score of even-par 72 on Tuesday to lead Hampden-Sydney College to a round of 299 and a three-day, 54-hole team score of 928 (310-319-299) to finish fourth among 10 teams at the
2026 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Golf Championships played at the Poplar Grove Golf Club in Amherst. Sophomore
Groves Williams (Greenville, SC) led the Tigers with his 80-73-76—229 that tied for sixth individually among the 50 collegiate golfers.
Williams (229) was followed by Barnes (80-80-72—232, T-12th), along with sophomores
Garnett Hall (Richmond) (74-84-76—234, T-22nd),
Luke Combs (Newport News) (77-84-75—236, T-25th) and
Oliver Tobin (Charlotte, NC) (79-82-86—247, T-46th). Barnes had four birdies and 11 pars during his third round at the par 72, 7,082-yard course, finishing with one eagle, six birdies and 29 pars. Williams had two birdies and 11 pars, finishing with eight birdies and 28 pars. Hall had two birdies and 11 pars, finishing with seven birdies and 29 pars. Combs, who was announced as a member of the
All-ODAC Third Team during the awards ceremony, had three birdies and 10 pars, finishing with eight birdies and 26 pars. Tobin had one birdie and seven pars, finishing with three birdies and 27 pars. Williams and Barnes were each 18-hole pin flag recipients, while Williams earned
All-Tournament Team honors for his top six finish.

Williams tied for second in par 5 scoring (4.83), tied for eighth in birdies (8), tied for 11th in par 4 scoring (4.27) and tied for 16th in pars (28). Barnes tied for second in eagles (1), tied for fifth in par 4 scoring (4.17), tied for 10th in pars (29) and tied for 25th in birdies (6). Hall tied for fifth in par 3 scoring (3.17), tied for 10th in pars (29), tied for 13th in par scoring (4.27) and tied for 18th in birdies (7). Combs tied for eighth in birdies (8), tied for ninth in par 3 scoring (3.25) and tied for 19th in par 4 scoring (4.40). Tobin tied for 22nd in pars (27).
Guilford (NC) College won the championships with its team score of 311-299-294—904, followed by fifth-ranked Washington and Lee University (304-313-306—923), Randolph-Macon College (315-306-305—926), H-SC (928) and 17th-ranked the University of Lynchburg (305-321-305—931) among the top five teams. W&L's Jonathan McEwen, the top-ranked golfer in Division III, took individual medalist honors at 73-74-72—219 as the ODAC Individual Champion for the second consecutive year.
H-SC has concluded its 2025-26 season and could return as many as 17 lettermen for the 2026-27 campaign.
