Baseball Homecoming Weekend March 27-28

Hampden-Sydney Baseball Homecoming Weekend Set For March 27-28

3/26/2026 12:35:00 PM

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- The Hampden-Sydney Big Hitters Club in collaboration with the Hampden-Sydney Alumni Association are hosting the Hampden-Sydney Baseball Homecoming Weekend on Friday and Saturday, March 27-28. Baseball alumni are invited back to campus to reconnect with fellow baseball alums and support the Tigers as they host nationally-ranked No. 6 Shenandoah University in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) doubleheader on Saturday, March 28, beginning at 12 p.m. on Yank Bernier Field at the Ty Cobb Ballpark – Wurdeman Stadium.

"Baseball homecoming is a special time for the program each year," second-year head coach Michael Mulvey. "To see our alumni come back and support the program shows how much their time at Hampden-Sydney has meant them. This particular baseball homecoming weekend will feature celebrating the accomplishments of the 2005 team, who was recently inducted in the H-SC Athletic Hall of Fame for their World Series appearance during that season. We look forward to seeing all that can make it back for the weekend and celebrating Hampden-Sydney Baseball."

The Alumni Association encourages everyone to please sign-up online by noon on Friday to ensure the best experience. The festivities get underway on Friday, March 27, with a Homecoming Social at the North Street Press Club in Farmville from 7-9 p.m. It's free admission for an opportunity to gather with fellow alumni, friends and families for an evening of fellowship and remembrance of good times on the Hill. Light appetizers will be provided, and drinks will be available for purchase.

On Saturday, March 28, a Homecoming Reception will run from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. in the Stadium Lounge on the second floor at the Ty Cobb Ballpark – Wurdeman Stadium. A $25 ticket includes food and beverage with the Bar open from 11:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., along with a Buffet Lunch from noon until 3 p.m. The Big Hitters Club Advisory Board and returning baseball alumni will be recognized on the field between games on Saturday afternoon.

H-SC enters the conference doubleheader with a record of 10-12 overall, including 4-4 in the ODAC, and currently in sixth place among the 11 schools. SU, ranked sixth nationally in the latest D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25, has a record of 20-4 overall, including 5-4 in the conference for fifth place in the standings.
