Head Coach Caleb Kimbrough
H-SC is led by the seventh-year head coach who took over the program on April 4, 2019. The former head coach at Huntingdon (AL) College from 2016-19, Kimbrough is the 19th head coach in the 116-year history of the storied Hampden-Sydney program. He is no stranger to the ODAC, having played four years at Guilford (NC) College and coached six years with the Quakers, and one year at Washington and Lee University. Kimbrough is 117-50 at the College, ranking sixth in program coaching wins, while his current winning percentage (.701) ranks second all-time. He is a two-time National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III District 6 Coach of the Year (2022-23, 2023-24), was the 2022-23 ODAC Men's Basketball Bob Johnson Coach of the Year and the 2024-25 D3hoops.com Region 6 Coach of the Year.

84-82 overtime decision on the road at ODAC member Averett University on Jan. 23. The Tigers have been led by a trio of sophomore guards in
Santana Lynch (Dallas, TX) (12.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 57% FGs),
Peter Moye (Charlotte, NC) (11.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 28-3FGs) and
Travis Stickney (Mount Pleasant, SC) (10.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 22-3FGs). Senior guard
Colin Radcliffe (Richlands, NC) (9.6 points, 36-3FGs), senior forward
Shane Fernald (Charlotte, NC) (9.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists), sophomore guard
Tugg Bizzelle (Baltimore, MD) (8.1 points, 12-3FGs) and junior center
Alex Cannon (Loganville, GA) (5.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, 65% FGs) are each contributing significantly, as well. H-SC shoots 47% (479-1027) from the field, including 33% (112-344) on three-point field goals, and 66% (229-348) at the free throw line. The Tigers average 76.4 points, and yield 70.6 points, for a +5.8 scoring margin.Â

VWU, coached by 26th-year head coach Dave Macedo, took a 60-44 conference road win at Eastern Mennonite University on Jan. 23. The Marlins have been led by graduate guard Omari DeVeaux (21.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 29-3FGs) and senior forward Amari Moorer (15.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, 52% FGs). VWU shoots 42% (397-951) from the field, including 31% (126-412) on three-pointers, and 70% (251-360) at the line. The Marlins average 73.2 points, and yield 67.5 points, for a +5.7 scoring margin.
Series History
H-SC and VWU are playing for the 94th time since first meeting on January 8, 1973, a 96-56 home win for the Tigers. H-SC leads the overall series at 53-40 with six-straight wins, including a
66-47 home win last February 5, 2025 in Kirby Field House ... the only meeting between the two schools last season. Coach Kimbrough is 6-3 against the Marlins since taking over the program prior to 2019-20, including 2-2 at home with two-straight wins on campus.
NCAA Division III Statistics (Top 13)
H-SC continues to lead Division III in rebound margin (13.8), and ranks eighth nationally in rebounds per game (44.7) and 13th in defensive rebounds (30.1).

Leading the Tigers is senior guard
Grayson Schultz (Moseley), who is a second-year team member serving in the leadership role for the first time. He was a team manager during his first two years at the College, before joining the team for 2024-25. Grayson is the son of Glenn and Paige Schultz and is majoring in economics and business at the College.
Program History
H-SC is competing in its 116th-year of basketball during 2025-26. The Tigers have an overall program record of
1,551-1,108Â since beginning in 1908. H-SC has posted 64 winning seasons, 18 seasons with at least 20 wins, six seasons with at least 25 wins, has won a record 11 ODAC Tournament Championships.
NCAA Tournament History
H-SC has made
17 NCAA Tournament appearances since 1989, winning at least one game in 14 of the 17 years, while compiling an overall NCAA Tournament record of 27-18. The Tigers advanced to the Final Four in 1999, 2003 and 2024, and to the National Championship in 1999 and 2024. H-SC was National Runner-Up in 2024, falling to Trine (IN) 69-61, as well as in 1999, falling to UW-Platteville 76-75 in double-overtime. The Tigers fell to Gustavus Adolphus (MN) 79-68 in the 2003 National Semifinals. H-SC advanced to the Elite Eight in 1995, 1998, 1999, 2003 and 2024, while reaching the Sweet 16 in 1992, 1994, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2024 and 2025. The Tigers have hosted 24 NCAA Tournament games since 1992, compiling an impressive record of 19-5.
Former Tigers Now Division I Head Coaches
H-SC currently has two former basketball team members and graduates of the College that are serving as NCAA Division I head coaches.
Russell Turner '92 is in his 16th year at UC Irvine and
Ryan Odom '96 is in his first season at Virginia and his 10th season as a DI head coach (UMBC, Utah State, VCU). Through Jan. 26, Turner was 335-194 at UCI (14-7 this season) and Odom was 217-120 overall, including 16-3 this season at (17/17)UVA, 52-21 in two years at VCU, 44-25 in two years at USU and 97-60 in five years at UMBC.Â
Griff Aldrich '96 is in his first season as the associate head coach at UVA after serving as head coach at Longwood the past seven seasons where he was 127-100 overall. Additionally,
Ryan Silverfield '03 was named the 35th head football coach at Arkansas on November 30. Silverfield was 50-25 in six years at Memphis, including 8-4 this season.
