HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College sophomore
Garnett Hall (Richmond) has been named the
Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Golfer of the Week for the period September 4-9. Garnett posted a 36-hole score of one-under par 71-72—143 to finish first individually among 57 collegiate golfers at theÂ
Knights Invitational on Sept. 8-9 and played at the  Wintergreen Resort's Stoney Creek Golf Course in Nellysford. He earned a two-stroke victory for his medalist honors, and  first collegiate tournament victory.
Hall posted  four birdies and nine pars on day two at the par 72, 6,713-yard layout, finishing the two-day individuals-only tournament with seven birdies and 23 pars en route to the triumph. He led the tournament field in par 4 scoring (3.95, -1), tied for second in birdies, tied for fourth in pars and par 3 scoring (3.00, E), and tied for 11th in par 5 scoring (5.00, E). This is the first time that Garnett has been named the conference golfer of the week during his collegiate career.
H-SC will compete at the
Gate City Invitational on Sept. 15-16, a 54-hole tournament to be played at the Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.
