Hampden-Sydney Places Six Student-Athletes On The 2024-25 VaSID Academic All-State Team

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College placed six individuals on the 2024-25 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Academic All-State Team. The Tigers recognized include recent graduates Adam Brazil '25 (Mooresville, NC), Grayson Harris '25 (Moseley), Brandon Hyde '25 (Thousand Oaks, CA), Conor Kilfeather '25 (Wyndmoor, PA), Kade Minton '25 (Wytheville) and Will Thomas '25 (Blacksburg).

Adam Brazil, a five-year member of the basketball team, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with minors in Leadership in the Public Interest and Rhetoric, while attaining a 3.84 GPA. Adam was named to the 2024-25 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III All-America First Team, as well as the NABC District 6 Player of the Year and All-District 6 First Team … the 2025 D3hoops.com All-America First Team and D3hoops.com Region 6 Player of the Year and All-Region 6 First Team, the 2024-25 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Basketball Kurt Axe Player of the Year, and the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year, to the Trevor Hudgins Award Top 15 Watch List and the Bevo Francis Top 25 Watch List, and played in the NABC All-Star Game. He was also named to the 2024-25 Academic All-America® Men's Basketball First Team as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) for NCAA Division III, and was a member of the 2023-24 CSC Academic All-America® Men's Basketball Second Team, while a three-time member of the CSC Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team (2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25) and a soon to be five-time member of the ODAC All-Academic Team (2021-25). Adam is a member of Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society (Alpha Omicron Chapter), Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, the Phi Beta Kappa Society, the Wilson Leadership Fellows Program, and received the College's Gammon Cup for 2024-25 (student-athlete in the graduating class who has best served the College, who shows not only athletic ability and scholarship, but embodies outstanding character), and graduated Summa cum laude.

Grayson Harris, a four-year member of the baseball team, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business, while attaining a 3.77 GPA. He holds the school record for season at-bats (172, 2025), was named to the 2025 ABCA NCAA Division III Region 6 All-Defensive Team, is a three-time member of the CSC Academic All-District® Baseball Team (2023-25) and a soon to be four-time member of the ODAC All-Academic Team (2022-25). Grayson is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, Omicron Delta Epsilon Economics Honor Society and the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society, and graduated Summa cum laude.

Brandon Hyde, a four-year member of the swimming team, earned Bachelor of Science degrees in both Biology and History with a minor in Asian Studies, while attaining a 3.55 GPA. He was named to the 2024-25 CSC Academic All-District Team® Men's Swimming and Diving Team and a soon to be four-time member of the ODAC All-Academic Team (2022-25). Brandon is a member of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society, served as President of the History Club and Vice President of the Reenactment Club.

Conor Kilfeather, a four-year member of the lacrosse team, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business with a minor in History, while attaining a 3.89 GPA. He was named First Team All-ODAC and an Honorable Mention All-American by both the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) and USA Lacrosse Magazine, was named a USILA Scholar All-American and played in the USILA Division III All-Star Game. Conor is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, Eta Sigma Phi Classics Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society, Omicron Delta Epsilon Economics Honor Society and the Phi Beta Lambda Business Honor Society. He is also a Tiger Fund manager, Student-Athlete Mentor, Venable Scholar and Treasurer of the Commercial Real Estate Club, while a two-time member of the CSC Academic All-District® At-Large Team (2023-24), and a soon to be four-time member of the ODAC All-Academic Team (2022-25). Conor was presented the William R. Hendley Award in Economics and Business at Final Convocation, and graduated Summa cum laude with College Honors.

Kade Minton, a four-year member of the cross country and distance track teams, earned Bachelor of Science degrees in both Applied Mathematics and Engineering Physics with a minor in Religion, while attaining a 3.93 GPA. He holds the school records for the 8K distance in cross country (26:43), and the 5000-meter run in both indoor track (16:19.47) and outdoor track (16:17.01), and was named to the 2023 CSC Academic All-District® Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, and a soon to be four-time member of the ODAC All-Academic Team (2022-25). Kade is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, Chi Beta Phi Science Honor Society, Pi Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honor Society and the Theta Alpha Kappa Religion Honor Society, was presented both the William C. Chewning Jr. Award in Mathematics and Computer Science, and the Weyland Thomas Joyner Physics Award in Physics and Astronomy at Final Convocation, and graduated Summa cum laude.

Will Thomas, a four-year member of the football team, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Spanish, while attaining a 3.50 GPA. He was a semifinalist for the 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy®, awarded to the nation's top football scholar-athlete by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF), was named a member of the 2025 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, and a soon to be four-time member of the ODAC All-Academic Team (2022-25). Will is a member of the Phi Sigma Iota National Foreign Language Honor Society, the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society and the Spanish Club, is a recipient of the Harrison Honors Scholarship and the Penshurst Scholarship, and participated in the Global Education Spanish Immersion Program at Instituto Franklin, Universidad de Alcalá, in Madrid, Spain last summer (2024) and graduated Cum laude.

VaSID Academic All-State honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher and are sophomores or above. This year's team includes 216 student-athletes from 36 schools, as each school is allowed six honorees.
