HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Senior team captain
Barrett Foster (Virginia Beach) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the period of April 14-20. Foster went 4-0 overall between singles and doubles over two matches to earn his second Player of the Week honor this season.
Foster, went 2-0 in doubles matches with his partner sophomore
Thomas Davis (Charlotte, NC), and went 2-0 in singles matches in the penultimate week of the regular season. He opened with a 6-2, 6-3 singles victory and a 6-2 doubles victory in a 7-0 win at Randolph-Macon College on Friday, April 18. He followed it up with a 7-6, 7-5 singles win and a 6-4 doubles win in a 7-0 win at home against the University of Lynchburg on Saturday, April 19.
Foster is 18-6 in singles action this season, while having a 6-1 singles record in the fall, and is 12-5 in spring dual matches. In doubles matches, he is 19-4 overall and went 6-3 in the fall and has posted a 14-2 record in spring dual matches, with the only defeats coming against Division I College of Charleston (SC) and ODAC member Averett University.
Foster and the Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, April 26, when they host Guilford (NC) College to close out the regular season and ODAC play. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at the H-SC Tennis Courts.
