Victor Ovalle-Mares (Atlanta, GA) has been named Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Offensive Player of the Week for the period of October 27-November 2.
Ovalle-Mares helped the Tigers to a 2-0 week, including a win in the ODAC Men's Soccer Tournament Quarterfinals. On the week, he scored once and set up two goals for three goal contributions. He assisted on the final goal of the regular season finale, a 3-1 win over rival Randolph-Macon College on Oct. 29. He then scored and assisted in a 4-1 win over No. 6 seed Randolph College in the ODAC Quarterfinals on Nov. 1.
Victor has started all 17 games this season, scoring three goals and adding four assists for 10 points. He is tied for fifth in the conference with four assists and 22nd in the conference with 10 points.
Ovalle-Mares and the Tigers will be back in action on Wednesday, November 5, when they travel to Lexington to take on No. 2 seed Washington and Lee University in the ODAC Semifinals. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Alston Parker Watt Field.
