HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College has received an at-large invitation to the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship, and was chosen as one of sixteen sites hosting first and second round competition on Saturday and Sunday, November 15-16, at Hellmuth-Gibson Field. The Tigers will welcome Otterbein (OH) University in the first round on Saturday, November 15, at 3:30 p.m. H-SC, led by ninth-year head coach
Tommy DiNuzzo have an overall record of 13-3-2, competing in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) regular season at 6-1-2, before falling in the conference tournament semifinals. The Cardinals have a record of 11-2-6 after winning the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament to receive automatic qualification. The Tigers are making their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.

Tickets are required for entry to the venue. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for senior citizens (65 and older), and $10 for students (six years old through college), plus ticketing fees. Tickets for Saturday can be purchased

H-SC, ranked No. 23 in the final
NCAA Power Index (NPI) and No. 23 in the final regular season
United Soccer Coaches Top 25, has two losses in its last 13 games, including nine wins. The 13 wins are the fourth most in program history, and tie the highest amount under DiNuzzo. The Tigers have been ranked four times in the poll this season, their most in a season in program history. In addition, four opponents played this season have qualified for the postseason tournament: Christopher Newport, North Carolina Wesleyan, Lynchburg, and Washington and Lee.

As mentioned, H-SC will host Otterbein on Saturday, November 15, at 3:30 p.m. The visiting Cardinals have won four straight and eight of their last nine. Otterbein is making its 10th NCAA Tournament appearance and has made the tournament the last three seasons. The Cardinals finished 53rd in the NPI. Emory (GA) University (13-1-3) will play Maryville (TN) College (9-3-6) in the other first round game on Saturday, November 15, at 1 p.m. Maryville also earned an AQ as the Collegiate Conference of the South Tournament Champions, while Emory earned an at-large bid. The two winners of the Saturday games will play in the second round on Sunday, November 16, at 3 p.m. at Hellmuth-Gibson Field.

Second-round winners will advance to one of four sectional sites Nov. 21-23. Winners of the four sectionals will advance to the national semifinals and finals on December 5-7. All games, except the semifinals and championship, will be played on the campuses of competing institutions. The semifinals and championship will take place at Donald J. Kerr Stadium on the campus of Roanoke College in Salem.
