Head Coach Caleb Kimbrough
H-SC is led by the fifth-year head coach who took over the program on April 4, 2019. The former head coach at Huntingdon (AL) College from 2016-19, Kimbrough is the 19th head coach in the 114-year history of the storied Hampden-Sydney program. He is no stranger to the ODAC, having played four years at Guilford (NC) College and coached six years with the Quakers, and one year at Washington and Lee University. H-SC continues to enjoy its finest start to a season since 2002-03 when the program began 22-0 en route to a 28-4 campaign that included an NCAA Tournament Final Four appearance. This year's team is extremely balanced offensively with three players averaging in double-figure scoring among its five starters that are each scoring at least 6.6 points per game, while seven Tigers are playing at least 15-plus minutes among 11 playing seven-plus minutes per game. Davidson Hubbard (Charlotte, NC) with his 15.0 points (31 3FGs) and 7.6 rebounds, senior guard and team captain
Adam Brazil (Mooresville, NC) with his 12.9 points (39 3FGs) and 3.8 assists, along with fifth-year guard
Ryan Clements (Conyers, GA) with his 12.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.7 steals. Joining them in the lineup have been senior guard
Alex Elliott (Marietta, GA) (6.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 18 3FGs) and senior guard/forward and team captain

The Marlins are coached by 24th-year head coach Dave Macedo, and were ranked as high as No. 18 nationally back on Jan. 2. VWU has been led by sophomore guard Khai Seargeant with his 12.6 points (17 3FGs) and senior guard Jordan Crump with his 9.6 points (33 3FGs). The Marlins shoot 42% (497-1183) from the field, including 31% (139-443) on three-pointers, and 68% (230-338) at the line; scoring 68.2 points, and yielding just 57.9 points, for a +10.3 scoring margin. VWU has wins this season past nationally-ranked Randolph-Macon (49-44) and Christopher Newport (74-68).

H-SC and VWU are playing for the 90th time since first meeting on January 8, 1973 at H-SC. The Tigers lead the overall series at 49-40, including two close wins last season, the most recent a
78-69 ODAC Tournament Quarterfinal win on February 24, 2023 in Salem. The Marlins, however, lead the ODAC series at 31-30 since joining the conference for the 1989-90 season. VWU has won 19 of the last 23 meetings, including four-straight and seven of the last eight in Fleet Gym.

Davidson Hubbard was named to the
2023-24 Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List on Jan. 15. The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball to include NCAA Divisions II and III, NAIA, USCAA and NCCAA.

479 consecutive games, dating back to a home game vs. Emory & Henry on Dec. 3, 2005 (0-1 3FGA). Ironically, the Tigers won that contest 130-99. Program History
H-SC is competing in its 114th-year of basketball during 2023-24. The Tigers began this season with an overall record of 1486-1093 since beginning in 1908, and currently are 1504-1094. H-SC has posted 63 winning seasons (this season included), 15 seasons with at least 20 wins, and has won 10 ODAC Tournament Championships and made 15 NCAA Division III Tournament appearances. The Tigers have advanced to the Final Four two times previously, and to the National Championship once.

Ryan Odom '96 is in his first season at VCU and his eighth season as a DI head coach (UMBC, Utah State) ...
Griff Aldrich '96 is in his sixth year at Longwood. Entering this season, Turner was 265-170 at UCI ... Odom was 141-85 overall, including 44-25 in two years at USU and 97-60 in five years at UMBC ... Aldrich was 88-72 at Longwood.
