Douglas Fleet Gymnasium at Kirby Field House. NCAA Division III's top-ranked Tigers are 16-1 overall, including 8-1 in the ODAC, following a 69-52 ODAC road win at Shenandoah University on Jan. 20 in Winchester for their 11th-straight victory. The Hornets are 10-8 overall, 5-4 in the ODAC, after an 86-63 ODAC home loss to Bridgewater College on Jan. 20 for their second loss in three games. It's the program's

Head Coach Caleb Kimbrough
H-SC is led by the fifth-year head coach who took over the program on April 4, 2019. The former head coach at Huntingdon (AL) College from 2016-19, Kimbrough is the 19th head coach in the 114-year history of the storied Hampden-Sydney program. He is no stranger to the ODAC, having played four years at Guilford (NC) College and coached six years with the Quakers, and one year at Washington and Lee University. Kimbrough is 68-36 overall at the College, including 39-22 in ODAC games. H-SC continues to enjoy its finest start to a season since
2002-03 when the program began 22-0 en route to a 28-4 campaign that included an NCAA Tournament Final Four appearance. This year's team is extremely balanced offensively with three players averaging in double-figure scoring among its five starters that are each scoring at least 5.9 points per game, while seven Tigers are playing at least 15 minutes among 10 playing seven-plus minutes per game. H-SC has been led by senior forward
Davidson Hubbard (Charlotte, NC) with his 15.6 points (30 3FGs) and 7.9 rebounds, senior guard and team captain
Adam Brazil (Mooresville, NC) with his 13.1 points (34 3FGs) and 3.9 assists, along with fifth-year guard
Ryan Clements (Conyers, GA) with his 11.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 steals. Joining them in the lineup have been senior guard
Alex Elliott (Marietta, GA) (6.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 16 3FGs) and senior guard/forward and team captain
Josiah Hardy (Ashburn) (5.9 points, 4.0 rebounds). Fifth-year guard

The Tigers are shooting 46% (479-1042) from the field, including 38% (142-375) on three-point field goals (8.4 per game), and 74% (172-234) at the free throw line. H-SC has averaged 74.8 points, and allowed only 59.4 points, for a +15.4 scoring margin.
Scouting Lynchburg
The Hornets are coached by 16th-year head coach Hilliary Scott. Lynchburg has been led by senior forward Miles Taylor with his 10.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals, junior guard Deondre Ross with his 9.1 points, along with junior forward Jonathan Foust with his 9.0 points. The Hornets shoot 46% (522-1136) from the field, including 34% (143-420) on three-pointers, and 65% (204-316) at the line; scoring 77.3 points, and yielding 70.6 points, for a +6.7 scoring margin.
ODAC Series History
H-SC and Lynchburg are playing for the 93rd time as ODAC opponents since 1976-77. The Tigers lead the conference series at 68-24, including two-straight (last season) and three of the last four. H-SC won
89-72 on December 7, 2022 in Lynchburg, and
109-73 on February 15, 2023 in Fleet Gym. The Hornets had won 11 of 13 from 2014-22, including nine-straight at one point. Prior to that, the Tigers had won 23 of 26, including 10-straight at one point.

D3hoops.com Top 25. It's the longest stretch that the Tigers have been ranked first in the national poll for NCAA Division III men's basketball since an eight-week run at the top during 1999-2000 (26-2). H-SC earned 624 points in this week's poll, including 24 of 25 first-place votes.

Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List
Davidson Hubbard was named to the
2023-24 Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List on Jan. 15. The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball to include NCAA Divisions II and III, NAIA, USCAA and NCCAA.

H-SC has made at least one three-point field goal in
477 consecutive games, dating back to a home game vs. Emory & Henry on Dec. 3, 2005 (0-1 3FGA). Ironically, the Tigers won that contest 130-99. H-SC's 142 three-pointers this season includes three games of at least 11, with a season-high 17 three-pointers vs. Rose-Hulman (IN) on Nov. 18 (17-36 3FGA). The season-low is four at Ferrum on Jan. 3 (4-22 3FGA).

Miles is the son of Randy Harris and Corey Bacs and is majoring in economics and business. Adam is the son of Mark and Kristen Brazil and is majoring in English. Josiah is the son of Vernal Hardy and Felicia Miller and is majoring in economics and business.
Program History
H-SC is competing in its 114th-year of basketball during 2023-24. The Tigers began this season with an overall record of 1486-1093 since beginning in 1908, and currently are 1502-1094. H-SC has posted 63 winning seasons (this season included), 15 seasons with at least 20 wins, and has won 10 ODAC Tournament Championships and made 15 NCAA Division III Tournament appearances. The Tigers have advanced to the Final Four two times previously, and to the National Championship once.

Griff Aldrich '96 is in his sixth year at Longwood. Entering this season, Turner was 265-170 at UCI ... Odom was 141-85 overall, including 44-25 in two years at USU and 97-60 in five years at UMBC ... Aldrich was 88-72 at Longwood.
