Head Coach Caleb Kimbrough
H-SC is led by the fifth-year head coach who took over the program on April 4, 2019. The former head coach at Huntingdon (AL) College from 2016-19, Kimbrough is the 19th head coach in the 114-year history of the storied Hampden-Sydney program. He is no stranger to the ODAC, having played four years at Guilford (NC) College and coached six years with the Quakers, and one year at Washington and Lee. Kimbrough is 67-36 overall at the College, including 38-22 in ODAC games. 2002-03 when the program began 22-0 en route to a 28-4 campaign that included an NCAA Tournament Final Four appearance. This year's team is extremely balanced offensively with three players averaging in double-figure scoring among its five starters that are each scoring at least 5.8 points per game, while seven Tigers are playing at least 15-plus minutes among 10 playing seven-plus minutes per game. Davidson Hubbard (Charlotte, NC) with his 16.0 points (29 3FGs) and 7.8 rebounds, senior guard and team captain
Adam Brazil (Mooresville, NC) with his 13.1 points (32 3FGs) and 4.0 assists, along with fifth-year guard
Ryan Clements (Conyers, GA) with his 11.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 steals. Joining them in the lineup have been senior guard
Alex Elliott (Marietta, GA) (6.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 16 3FGs) and senior guard/forward and team captain
Josiah Hardy (Ashburn) (5.8 points, 4.0 rebounds). Fifth-year guard

The Hornets are coached by second-year head coach Nick Doyle. SU has been led by graduate guard Jaylen Williams with his 16.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.6 steals, junior forward Nic Pullum with his 9.4 points, along with senior guard Evan Makle with his 9.1 points (31 3FGs). The Hornets shoot 45% (420-943) from the field, including 29% (103-353) on three-pointers, and 76% (236-312) at the line; scoring 69.4 points, and yielding 63.5points, for a +5.9 scoring margin.

H-SC leads the all-time series, 19-4, including 13-3 in ODAC regular season games. The Tigers have won nine-straight against the Hornets, and 10 of the last 11 games in the series, including both games last season:
76-54 on Jan. 7, 2023 in Winchester ... and
74-55 on February 4, 2023 in Hampden-Sydney. The two schools first met in the 1989 NCAA South Atlantic Regional in Ewing, New Jersey, an 80-78 win by H-SC.

Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List
Davidson Hubbard was named to the
2023-24 Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List on Jan. 15. The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball to include NCAA Divisions II and III, NAIA, USCAA and NCCAA.

H-SC has made at least one three-point field goal in
476 consecutive games, dating back to a home game vs. Emory & Henry on Dec. 3, 2005 (0-1 3FGA). Ironically, the Tigers won that contest 130-99. H-SC's 136 three-pointers this season includes three games of at least 11, with a season-high 17 three-pointers vs. Rose-Hulman (IN) on Nov. 18 (17-36 3FGA). H-SC currently has three former basketball team members and graduates of the College that are serving as NCAA Division I head coaches.
Russell Turner '92 is in his 14th year at UC Irvine ...
Ryan Odom '96 is in his first season at VCU and his eighth season as a DI head coach (UMBC, Utah State) ...
Griff Aldrich '96 is in his sixth year at Longwood. Entering this season, Turner was 265-170 at UCI ... Odom was 141-85 overall, including 44-25 in two years at USU and 97-60 in five years at UMBC ... Aldrich was 88-72 at Longwood.
