Box Score ORLANDO, Fl. --Â Hampden-Sydney College battled in doubles competition with Carnegie Mellon (PA) University, but lost its first match on the spring break trip in Orlando, Florida 9-0.
Sophomores
John Kendrick (Birmingham, AL) and
Barrett Foster (Virginia Beach) lost a close match in the top doubles match 8-7 (7-5). Freshman
Casey Coffey (Midlothian) and fellow classmate
Dillon McReynolds (Abingdon) fell 8-4 in their match while sophomores
Henry Singleton (Richmond) and
Taylor Fox (Virginia Beach) lost 8-5.
Foster dropped both sets in the top singles action 6-2, 6-2, with McReynolds falling in his singles match 6-0, 6-1. Sophomore
Matt Kendrick (Birmingham, AL) fell by an identical 6-1, 6-1 score line with Fox dropping a 6-1, 6-0 match. The Tigers finished up singles action with Singleton falling 6-0, 6-0 and
John Kendrick losing his match 6-0, 6-1.
The Tigers will be back in action later tonight, Sunday, March, 5 when they play at 6:30 p.m. in Orlando, Florida against Otterbein (OH) University.
