Box Score DANVILLE, KY -- Hampden-Sydney sophomore Barrett Foster (Virginia Beach), freshman Dillon McReynolds (Abingdon), and sophomore Henry Singleton (Richmond) all took singles wins and were part of winning doubles duos in the 7-2, victory over Hanover (IN) College, Saturday morning at the Centre Tennis Courts in Danville, KY.
H-SC jumped out to an early lead, grabbing doubles wins from Foster and partner McReynolds, 8-6, and Singleton and his partner sophomore John Kendrick (Birmingham, AL) 8-4. In the final doubles match freshman Casey Coffey (Midlothian) and partner sophomore Matt Kendrick (Birmingham, AL) fell in a close 8-5 battle.
Foster and McReynolds kept their winning ways going in singles action, with Foster winning 6-2, 6-4, and McReynolds winning a dominant 6-1, 6-2 match. The wins kept coming in singles action for the Tigers, with sophomore Taylor Fox (Virginia Beach) picking up his first singles victory of the season (7-6, 6-1). Singleton and Coffey both grabbed victories in singles action as well, with Singleton winning a three-set match 6-1, 6-0, 1-0, and Coffey easily winning 6-1, 6-2. Matt Kendrick was the final singles match, falling in a close two-set match 6-2, 7-6.
The Tigers will be back in action later tonight, when they play Centre College (KY), the hosts for this weekend's matches at 5 p.m. at the Centre Tennis Courts, in Danville, KY.
