The pool play results sent H-SC up against VMI in the tournament semi-final. The Tigers fell 14-7 in a well-played match. After falling behind 14-0, the ruggers fought back with a try by Teddy Hendrickson and a successful conversion by
Graeme Ebert but could not match VMI's score before time ran out. In the other semi-final, Richmond defeated Emory and Henry to move into the final vs VMI. VMI then defeated Richmond to win the Todd Miller Memorial 7's championship. Hampden-Sydney was then awarded third place as Emory and Henry was not able to compete in the 3rd place match as a result of low player numbers for E&H. In its place, H-SC played Longwood once again in an unscored friendly, offering more opportunities to play and featuring excellent sportsmanship between the squads.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, April 16th in a trip to Lexington for a rematch with VMI. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
