HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – Hampden-Sydney College has earned the No. 8 seed for the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Soccer Tournament, and will travel for a quarterfinal game at nationally-ranked No. 1 and top-seeded Washington and Lee University on Saturday, October 30, at 1 p.m. on Alston Parker West Field in Lexington.

Under the direction of fifth-year head coach Tommy DiNuzzo, the Tigers completed the season with an overall record of 6-7-2, while going 3-5-1 in the ODAC to secure the final spot in the tournament field.

"It's been an up and down season and we are glad to have the opportunity to compete in the ODAC Tournament," said DiNuzzo, "We're looking forward to traveling to Lexington on Saturday."

Washington and Lee is 13-0-2 overall and went 8-0-1 in the ODAC. The Generals defeated H-SC 2-0 during the regular season on October 9 at Hellmuth-Gibson Field. The University of Lynchburg (12-4-1, 8-1 ODAC) is the number two seed while Randolph-Macon College (10-3-3, 5-1-3 ODAC) is the number three seed. Randolph College (12-2-2, 5-2-2 ODAC) and Roanoke College (9-3-5, 4-1-4 ODAC) round out the top five spots. Virginia Wesleyan University (11-3-4, 4-2-3 ODAC) and Shenandoah University (8-8-2, 3-4-2 ODAC) complete the tournament field in the sixth and seventh spots, respectively.

The 2021 tournament will be played under a new format with the ODAC moving away from the final four structure from years past. The quarterfinals will be hosted by the top four seeds on Saturday, October 30. The four winners will take part in the semifinals in normal bracket progression on Wednesday, November 3. The highest remaining seed will host the championship on Saturday, November 6.
