EMORY, Va. – The Hampden-Sydney swim team won their regular season finale over Emory & Henry College on the road, 113-80. The Tigers finish the regular season 7-4 and will have two weeks before the 2020 ODAC Championships.
For the second night in a row, H-SC won the first event of the day, this time in the 200 Meter Medley Relay. Junior Zach Stephan/Hampton, sophomore Woody Parsons/Virginia Beach, junior AJ Howard/Washington, NC, and senior Brandon Koch/Spotsylvania finish the event in w time of 2:00.55. Parsons won his first individual event of the day in the next event winning the 800 Meter Freestyle in a tie of 9:49.35.
Stephan and junior Eric Hope/Norfolk finished one, two in the 200 Meter Freestyle in times of 2:11.29 and 2:18.37, respectively. Parsons once again touched the wall first in the 200 Meter IM in a time of 2:26.87.
In his next event, Stephan won his second individual event, winning the 100 Meter Fly in a time of 1:03.52. Koch took home second in the event in a time of 1:06.04. Howard continued the wins for the Tigers, finishing first in the 100 Meter Free in a time of 59.03.
Freshman Andrew Rehak/Radford finished second in the 100 Meter Backstroke in a time of 1:11.01. Sophomore Jason Covaney/Williamsburg and Hope finished as the top to placers in the 400 Meter Free. Covaney touched the wall in 5:04.19 while Hope was just over five second later in 5:09.21.
The Tigers will have two weeks of practices before traveling to the 2020 ODAC Championships in Greensboro, NC. The event will take place over the course of four days on February 6-9 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
