LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Hampden-Sydney swim team picked up a 99-89 win over host Randolph College on the road Friday evening at the RAC Center. The Tigers improve to 6-4 in duals this season with one remaining before the 2020 ODAC Championships.
H-SC picked up a win in the first event of the evening win with the team of junior Zach Stephan/Hampton, sophomore Dane Warner/Norfolk , sophomore Jason Covaney/Williamsburg, and senior Brandon Koch/Spotsylvania touched the wall first in the 400 Yard Medley Relay in a time of 3:54.21.
Sophomore Woody Parsons/Virginia Beach picked his first win of the evening in the 200 Yard Free in a time of 1:52.97. Freshman Andrew Rehak/Radford finished third in the event with a time of 2:03.11. In the 50 Yard Free, junior AJ Howard/Washington, N.C. finished second in a time of 22.99, less than one second behind the event winner from Randolph.
Stephan and sophomore Eric Hope/Norfolk finished one, three in the 200 Yard IM with times of 2:07.28 and 2:24.10, respectively. Parsons went on to win his second event in the 100 Yard Fly with a time of 55.63 with Covaney finishing right behind him with a time of 58.40.
Koch took home second in the 100 Yard Free in a time of 52.71, just one and half seconds behind first place. Parsons claimed his third event in the 500 Yard Free with a time of 5:28.39, just .05 seconds ahead of Randolph.
The Tigers will close out the regular season on Saturday, January 25 when they continue their road trip as they visit Emory & Henry College for a 1 p.m. dual.
