THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • H-SC nearly registered the first goal of the game in the 10th minute but Eli Strong's shot was saved by a defender
  • The Tigers scored in the 35th minute when Landon Moss headed in a Hunter Weiland corner kick over the goalkeeper
  • The Tigers were on the offensive for the first 20 minutes of the second half, but the Yellow Jackets upped the pressure and kept H-SC on the defensive for the majority of the rest of the game
  • The pressure paid off when the ref whistled the Tigers for a controversial foul just inside the box at 76:04 and Jacob McHugh was able to tie the game on the ensuing penalty kick
  • Just over seven minutes later, an Andrew Griggs shot was turned away by a Tiger defender but fell directly to the feet of Peter Nelson and with no hesitation sent it into the top right corner for the game-winner
  • The Randolph-Macon defense finished off the game from there, allowing no Tiger shots the rest of the way
