Hampden-Sydney Soccer suffered its first defeat as the visiting Birmingham Southern Panthers toppled the Tigers 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Panthers needed less than three minutes to get the opening goal as Josh Wild found Dallas Coyne who fired it over the goalkeeper who had come out of the net to try to breakup the play at 2:54
• The Tigers got several more scoring opportunities but weren't able to capitalize until the 41st minute when Ryan Killen's pass was blocked but went right to Jacob Mann who headed it into the back of the net
• H-SC saw some good chances early in the second half but couldn't find the go-ahead goal
• Wild put Birmingham Southern ahead 2-1 off a Tylan Jones assist at 59:25
• The Panthers defense did their job from there and held the Tigers without a shot on goal the rest of the game
