COACH'S REMARKS

  • "We saw progress today, but we all know we have yet to put our best game together. We'll take the three points and look to build on our performance from the 2nd half," stated Head Coach Ian McMichael.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Shenandoah had the majority of the shots in the games first 25 minutes, but it was the Tigers who scored first as Ryan Turner posted an unassisted tally at 26:13
  • The goal allowed the Tigers to seize momentum and fired off five more shots in the frame, all of which were saved or blocked along with one saved off the line by a defender, to make it a 1-0 Tiger lead at the half
  • H-SC needed just over 10 minutes into the second half to score again as Cole Burton notched his first career goal off an assist from Robert Kerby
  • The Tigers continued to pepper the Shenandoah defense with shots and it paid off for the third time as Landon Moss notched his first career tally in the 66th minute off a pass from William Jackson, marking his return from a two-game absence.
  • William Jackson then added on his sixth goal of the season at 74:57
  • In the 78th minute, a timely clearance off the line by Spell Carr helped preserve the sixth clean sheet of the season for Hampden-Sydney

TIGER TOP PERFORMERS

  • Cameron McFarlane recorded his 21st career shutout, ranking third in H-SC history. He is two clean sheets shy of John Robert Plyler '10 in second place and three short of Michael Bizon '99.
  • William Jackson tallied three points on a goal and an assist along with a team-high three shots
  • Cole Burton and Ryan Killen each had two shots on goal while Burton scored once

FOR THE FOES

  • Brian Maye had a team-best three shots
  • Keegan Fairchild recorded four stops in net
