Box Score SALISBURY, MD – The #17 Salisbury University Seagulls defeated Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse 13-4 on Wednesday afternoon.
Salisbury scored the first two goals of the contest, but Duncan Morris (Charlottesville, VA / Christchurch) found the back of the net at 8:44 to make it a 2-1 game. Salisbury would go on to score the next eight goals, spanning three quarters.
Morris, Abbot Wallenborn (Crozet, VA / Western Albemarle), Jake Koferl (Huntersville, NC / Lake Norman), and Fleet Jernigan (Kitty Hawk, NC / First Flight) each scored a goal while David Noftsinger (Richmond, VA / Collegiate School) posted 10 saves.
James Burton paced the Seagulls with five goals and three assists, Sean Fitzgerald had two scores and two assists, and Kyle Goss tallied a hat trick. Cameron Maples went 10-15 on face-offs
The Seagulls won 14-of-21 face-offs and outshot the Tigers 47-21.
Hampden-Sydney opens ODAC play this Saturday with a road contest at Shenandoah University at 4 m.
