Swimming Defeats Frostburg State 106-90

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA – The Hampden-Sydney Swim team closed out their home slate with a 106-90 win versus Frostburg State University on Saturday afternoon.

H-SC swam the 200-meter medley relay uncontested as David Anderson, Ryan Mitchell, Conor O'Heir, and Lee Ayscue completed it in 2:03.04. William Shooter finished in third at 11:37.66 in the 800 meter freestyle, and Mitchell won the 200 meter freestyle with a time of 2:08.99.

The Tigers dominated the 50 meter freestyle, taking all three top spots. Ford Scott narrowly beat out teammate Calvin Charles, taking the event in 26.20 while Charles followed just 0.07 seconds behind. Lee Ayscue didn't follow much further behind, hitting the stopping block at 26.96.

Anderson finished runner up in the 200 meter IM at 2:31.12, and O'Heir placed first in the 100 meter fly with a time of 1:06.78. Ayscue completed the 100 meter freestyle in 59.73 to take second, and Anderson won the 100 meter backstroke, finishing in 1:11.70.

Ryan Mitchell took second with a time of 1:13.75 in the 100 meter breaststroke and the 200 meter freestyle relay team closed out the meet taking top honors in the event. Shooter, Evan Harris, Grant Brown, and Charles finished in 1:55.18.

Hampden-Sydney goes on the road to Greensboro College on January 24 for a 6 m start time.
