Box Score LEXINGTON, VA - Washington & Lee netted two second-half goals to take down Hampden-Sydney 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
The game was knotted at 0-0 going in to intermission, but the Generals had the upper hand, registering seven shots and shutting the Tigers out of the shot column. The second half also was controlled by the Generals and they broke the ice in the 68th minute when Zach Colby finished off a Mason Billings pass. Ben Bayles notched the insurance goal at 77:13.
Cameron McFarlane (Norwich, CT / South Kent) had a strong day between the goal posts with seven saves. For the game W&L outshot H-SC 15-4 with a 10-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Hampden-Sydney travels to Maryland on Tuesday to wrap up non-conference play with a 4 pm contest against the Seahawks of St. Mary's College. A win will give the Tigers a winning record outside the ODAC. Live stats for the contest can be found here
