Rugby Conquers Generals 29-18

LEXINGTON, VA-Hampden-Sydney Rugby opened its fall campaign with a victory against Washington & Lee. Sophomore Charlie Kyle scored three tries - one a direct return of a Washington & Lee kick off. Additional tries were scored by senior captains Jake Pierce and Matt Stockinger. Senior tri-captain Baron Fortune added two points on a conversion kick and sophomore, Greg Regan added 2 more following one of Kyle's tries.  

Saturday's game also marked James Hanna's first American Rugby game. Hanna is an exchange student from Queen's University in Belfast, Ireland who began playing rugby when he was five years old.
Hampden-Sydney returns to action on September 21 vs. James Madison University. Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm on Venable Field.
